THE HAGUE, NETHERLANDS, September 11, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — MyHives has begun engineering validation of BEEKON+, a credit-card-sized safety device that operates independently of a smartphone, with first shipments planned for early 2027. The company also confirmed that trials of its BEEKON safety platform are running with organisations whose combined contracted workforce exceeds 33,000 people, including homecare and facility-services teams.
Most personal safety tools require the person in danger to act: press a button, place a call, or share a location. Clinical research indicates that this assumption often fails. A published study of 298 assault survivors assessed within a month of the incident found that 70 percent experienced significant tonic immobility, the involuntary freezing response that prevents deliberate movement under extreme threat. MyHives field research among 300 women produced a similar pattern. Many respondents reported deliberately not reaching for a phone, because doing so would have revealed fear, and revealing fear felt unsafe.
BEEKON is the AI safety guardian developed by MyHives for situations in which a person may be unable to ask for help. It identifies moments that matter and alerts the trusted circle the person has created in the app, which may include family, friends or colleagues, with what happened and where. Nothing is shared until something is wrong.
BEEKON+ extends that capability into hardware. The device connects in more than 170 countries without relying on a paired phone. Built-in sensors monitor air for toxic gases, carbon monoxide and signs of fire risk, and the device is designed to respond to human threats such as break-in or robbery.
“The scarce resource in an emergency is not the ambulance. It is the first minute in which anyone knows,” said Nelson T. Ajulo, founder and CEO/CTO of MyHives.
“BEEKON alerts the people you trust. BEEKON+ is being built to escalate further, on its own, when no one is there to call,” Ajulo said.
