Strada Cucina Italiana Launches Dual Concept, Welcoming the Community in for Any Occasion

Strada Cucina Italiana announces it will now be open for dinner, featuring new menu options

A year after Strada Cucina Italiana opened its doors to the community in downtown Salt Lake City, it is now excited to officially launch its dual concept, still offering its usual convenient and accessible lunch options, while expanding its experience and menu for dinner. 

Strada is two worlds in one, at lunch offering a fast-paced environment featuring classic Italian street food. Prior to dinner, the space is completely reset before reopening, where it takes on a different identity and style of service with an intimate Italian bistro-style atmosphere. 

In 2025, Matteo Ristorante Italiano was named Utah’s Best Restaurant by Salt Lake Magazine. The same commitment that helped it achieve this award carries into Strada, which is dedicated to combining great food, refreshing wine selections, and genuine Italian hospitality. Matteo Sogne, the restaurant’s founder, has worked to ensure that Strada brings the same flavors and careful craftsmanship that the community has come to know and love at Matteo’s in a more approachable setting.

“Strada is the fun 1980s colorful Riviera Sister to the Northern Italian-inspired Matteo. While the food is excellent in both restaurants, Strada offers a more casual and colorful vibe, different from the intimate luxury at Matteo, and is the perfect balance for a casual family dinner out, a lighthearted pasta and glass of wine after work, or a fun celebration with friends,” he said.

During the day, Strada centers around pastas, paninis, fresh salads, and Italian street-inspired dishes made fresh daily. Sandwiches are hand-crafted daily with high-quality ingredients and ciabatta bread baked fresh by Matteo’s mother. 

At night, the new dinner menu features antipasti that are perfect to share with the table, including savory whipped brie and delicious polpette. For the main course, savor house favorites such as ravioli del giorno, classic manicotti, Portofino-style risotto, perfectly prepared New York strip bistecca, and tender braised lamb. Each dish brings together comforting flavors and timeless traditions of Italian cuisine, transporting guests straight to Italy with every bite.
